JPassGen is a cross-platform random password generator which can generate strong passwords for different applications. Its written in Java so you can run it on all systems supporting Java.

- It can generate passwords of variable length & in variable quantity.
- Generated passwords can be easily copied to the clipboard or saved as a file for later use.
- Repetition of characters in passwords can be prevented.
- Alphabets (Uppercase & Lowercase), numerals & special characters can be used in combination to generate strong passwords.
- User specified characters or symbols can also be used.
- Program settings can be saved.
- Extract the contents of the archive to a directory before running the program. The "lib" directory and its contents should be present inside that directory for the program to function properly.
- A good password must contain both lower and upper case letters with numbers. If possible include special characters like "$%?!"/()" to make them stronger.
- Some special characters have special purpose assigned to them in certain systems. In that case the user should not use that character(s) in the password(s).

NOTE: PassGen, the windows-specific version of JPassGen is also available. It can run on Windows 98/NT/2000/ME/XP and does not requires Java to run.
